It is one of the most beautiful countries in the planet and a place where the East meets the West. Having recovered from its war history of the 1990s, today Bosnia is a fast developing and emerging economy of the region. The local people are very hospitable and the amenities are as per European standards. Sarajevo has been consistently rated as one of the top cities to visit by Lonely Planet and likes. It has some of the best ski slopes in Europe, some ravishingly beautiful waterfalls, the only primeval forest in Europe and pristine alpine forests. In terms of Wildlife, there are sure evidences of Brown Bears in Bosnia, but currently there are no organised Bear Watching expeditions happening there. All you may get is a chance encounter when trekking through the dense forests of Foca. Some of the key places we suggest in Bosnia are
Vrelo Bosne park in Sarajevo
Kravice Falls – It is a large tufa cascade on the Trebižat River, in the karstic heartland
Una National Park and falls – It is national park recognised in 2009, the upper una river and unac river runs through it. It has many multi layered waterfalls.
Rainforest Foca – It also hosts the highest peak of Bosnia, Mt. Maglic.
Sand Pyramids – These are unique sand formations in middle of a pristine forest.
Visoko Pyramids – There are 4 pyramid shaped hills in the town of Visoko. The pyramid of Sun being the most prominent, the others being pyramid of moon, pyramid of love and pyramid of dragon.
When to go
