It is no wonder, then, that Nepal attracts more than 200,000 trekkers every year. With a plethora of trekking<\/a> options, each with their characteristics, it is quite challenging to choose one. We discuss our favorite five treks in Nepal<\/a>, based on difficulty, popularity, and scenery.<\/p>\n

Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking<\/h2>\n

Difficulty: Easy<\/h4>\n

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek, often dubbed \u201cThe Queen of Viewpoints\u201d, covers all the viewpoints from the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. The trek starts from Nayapul and takes you through the terraced farmlands and rhododendron forests of Gurung and Magar villages. It is an absolute delight to view the majestic sunrise over the Annapurna Range, from the vantage of Poonhill point. The trail ends at Gandhruk, the second largest village in Nepal. With a maximum elevation of 3200 meters and an easily navigable path, this trek is suitable for beginners who wish to enjoy the magnificence of the Himalayas without worrying about altitude sickness.  <\/p>\n

One of Nepal\u2019s greatest treks, Annapurna Circuit<\/a>, grants you spectacular views of Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri, Macchupucchre, Manaslu, and Langtang Himal. The trek is often crowded, and recent road construction has put a dent in the untouched beauty of the region. However, it is still one of the favorites, thanks to the arresting views of various mountain ranges, diverse landscapes, and numerous ancient Buddhist monasteries. With a maximum elevation of 5420 meters, this scenic trek is a must-try for intermediate-level hikers.<\/p>\n

The region suffered a major blow after the 2015 earthquake, but it has since been rebuilt, and trekking tourism has regained traction. The trek has a maximum elevation of 4984 meters and offers picturesque views of Langtang Ri, the Annapurnas, and Makalu. The trek provides a unique opportunity to walk past beautiful glaciers even at such a low altitude. For hikers interested in exploring the rich Tamang culture, coupled with enjoying the spectacular landscape and vegetation, the Langtang Trek is the best option.<\/p>\n

For those looking to view the snow-capped peaks of the world\u2019s tallest mountain, there is no trek better than the Everest Base Camp Trek<\/a>. The challenging trek has four passes that hikers need to cross, following which, they are rewarded with jaw-dropping views of the peaks and pristine mountains. Apart from witnessing several glaciers and fascinating landscape, you can also experience the Sherpa culture and visit ancient monasteries. While reaching the summit of Mt. Everest is a different ballgame altogether, walking its base camp is no less adventurous. The trek, with a maximum elevation of 5600 meters, takes you through beautiful passes and Dudhkoshi River. You can enjoy the spectacular sunrise and sunset over Everest as you breathe in the pure and fresh air. This trail is suitable for experienced hikers looking for an adventurous experience, unhindered by large crowds. From subtropical jungles at low elevation to the cold and challenging crossing of Larkya, this trek has it all. This restricted trek requires a permit and company of a Nepali guide\/porter, so visitors need to make suitable arrangements.<\/p>\n
