History of the Bhangarh Fort<\/strong>
\nThe history of the Bhangarh fort dates back to the 17th century. When the town was originally built it was an extremely flourishing town that was built by Madho Singh for the son Man Singh 1. Madho Singh was one of the very trusted and 9 ratnas of king Akbar\u2019s court. It is believed that Bhangarh fort was home to more than 10,000 people, until it was deserted overnight. The area of Bhangarh fort yet has 400-year-old remains, and is a popular sight among several archeologists and historians.<\/p>\n

What makes the fort so haunted?<\/strong>
\nThere are two stories that have ben told to us that makes us believe that Bhangarh is one of the most haunted places in the country. Even today there er boards outside the small town that keep visitors away from the place after sunset and before sunrise. This Is with the aim of keeping them away from the sight of paranormal activity and strange sights.<\/p>\n

The land of Bhangarh was initially home to a very renowned and looked up to saint who went by the name Guru Balu Nath. When Madho Singh built the fort, he sought for it to be necessary for him to take the permission of the ascetic. Guru Balu Nath told him that he may build the fort, however the shadow of the fort, at no time must all of the house of the saint otherwise great misfortune will fall upon the land. The king chose to disregard the warnings of the saint and built the walls of the fort higher than those of the house of the guru. As a result of this, the ascetic cursed the entire land of Bhangarh.<\/p>\n

Another tale that tells us about the reason why Bhangarh fort is so scary is the story of princess Ratnavati, an extremely good-looking woman. A necromancer who lived in the same region naturally fell in love with the beautiful princess and in order gain her attention placed a curse on her using black magic. He placed a spell on the oil that the princess used, on knowing this anger boiled with Ratnavati and she threw he bottle of oil onto a huge boulder in the vicinity. The was the very moment the countdown to the city had begun. When she threw the oil bottle it hit that boulder that crushed the house of the necromancer, however before he died, he cursed the entire town of Bhangarh that was eventually struck by grief and misfortune.<\/p>\n

Inside the fort:<\/strong>
\nAlthough the fort is one of the scariest places in the country is it on e of the most beautiful places one could visit. The deserted fort is one of the most clam and peaceful places in the day with several architectural marvels still located in the fort. The region still has several stone carvings, ancient tools, and stone paintings of the early men living in the Bhangarh fort area. In addition to this there is also the temple of Someshwar, a deity they prayed to back then. To add to the natural beauty, the place also has several natural springs and waterfalls.

The best time to visit the fort is between October to March. After the month of March, the place gets extremely hot and post that is the monsoon season during which there are several downpours in the terrain making it unsafe for the visitors. However, the best time to visit the place is always before sunset and after sunrise in order to keep yourself away from the sight of paranormal activities that place at Bhangarh.<\/p>\n

Where to stay<\/strong>
\nBhangarh is smaller attraction in the ancient and royal state of Rajasthan and has almost no places inside it for accommodations for the people. Although there are several places several resorts in Rajasthan that are ideal for for living. Alwar being the closest city to Bhangarh has several accommodations like the Sariska palace, Amra ka Baas in Alwar, Umaid Lake Palace. Jaipur is also a city that is somewhat close to Bhangarh and has hotels like the Gateway Hotel Ramgarh Lodge.<\/p>\n
