The hustle-bustle of life often gets to us in ways we can't imagine. Wouldn't you want to take a much-needed vacation to a place far, far away? The Iceland Northern Lights tour is the perfect vacation that'll take you to a mystical place. Mesmerized by the beauty of the mountains, the majestic waterfalls, the gigantic glaciers, and the adorable Icelandic horses, you'll never want to leave. The people are endearing and warm, the food - a vibrant cuisine, and an amalgamation of culture and finesse; you're going to fall in love.
The Iceland Northern Lights tour offers excitement, thrill and adventure, all in one neatly tied package. Experience the Northern Nordic way of life, go on a cruise and spot the Icelandic whales, feel like you're in a movie as you relax in the Blue Lagoon and face the daunting volcanoes. When you leave Iceland, you'll have hundreds of stories to take home.
Arrival at Keflavik, Iceland
Begin your Iceland Northern Lights Tour in style. Arrive at Keflavik, the central town of Iceland, via a flight. You will be transferred to your accommodation for the night in Reykjavik, the bountiful capital of Iceland. Reykjavik is famous for the architecture of the houses, created more for survival and order than for luxury. However, the most famous restaurant, Perlan, is the main attraction in Reykjavik.
Exploring the city and a drive to Saga Valley
After a comfortable night's sleep, wake up refreshed at 9:00 am and enjoy a nutritious, delicious breakfast. After that, head over to West Iceland, and explore the infinite mountains in Borgarfjörður, better known as the Saga valley. As you climb the once fiery Grábrók volcano-crater, you'll realise how mighty the forces of nature can be. After a tiring hike to the crater and back, soak your tired body in the world-famous hot springs of Deildartunguhver. Enjoy the waterfalls of Hraunfossar, as you swim and splash in the water, nestled between rocks and greens.
Before you go to sleep, there's one last adventure- the one in search of the elusive Northern Lights.
All of this, and it's just the first day of your Iceland Northern Lights Tour.
A visit to the snowy Snæfellsnes and a fun Fjord cruise
The Snæfellsnes peninsula is fondly known as the peninsula of the snowy mountain. The credit goes to the glaciers that stretch in for miles and miles. The peninsula, stretching 55 miles long, forms a beautiful relationship with the Atlantic Ocean, extending into its deep waters.
If you've seen the peninsula, you've seen a little bit of everything that Iceland is known for, whether it be the hexagonal basalt cliffs, the snowy glaciers, the mountainous scenery, or the warm and charming folk of Stykkishólmur- a nearby fishing town. The peninsula is magically shaped like an arm extending into a clenched fist. The Fjord cruise is nestled between rocky regions, with water cutting in, as blue as the sky itself.
Of course, the search for the Northern Lights continues at night.
Visit the Golden Circle, Geothermal fields, and befriend the Icelandic Horse
Anybody who's ever been to Iceland has been to the Golden Circle. Thingvellir National Park, one of the main tourist attractions of the Iceland Northern Lights Tour, weaves a tale rich in history and folklore. The Golden Circle itself is a combination of many mystical sites like Thingvellir and the Geothermal Fields. As you navigate the lava rocks and volcanoes, you're bound to see steam and hot springs. Do not fret; no volcanoes have erupted for 2000 years. Enjoy an Icelandic delicacy in the luxury restaurant Geysir. Meet the unique and friendly Icelandic Horse, a product of survival and evolution.
Exploring South Iceland and the Eyjafjallajökull volcano
If you've ever been fascinated by the occurrence of volcanoes, the Lava and Volcano Exhibition centre will quench your thirst. The South Coast is populated by folk museums, which narrate the stories of how Nordic people domesticated Iceland. Be sure not to miss the formidable Skógafoss waterfall!
Spend your afternoon lazing around at the black lava beach, where the shore is filled with black sand, creating a huge contrast with the blue water.
The main objective of the Iceland Northern Lights Tour is the Northern Lights. So, you'll be staying in absolute darkness at Kirkjubæjarklaustur, in pursuit of the Northern Lights.
Trip to Vatnajökull National Park, Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach
What's a trip to Iceland if you miss out on a snowy adventure? A day at Vatnajökull will guarantee a visit to Europe's largest glacier in Europe's largest park. If this sounds exciting, wait till you go to Diamond Beach. Watch the light cast magic as the icy structures glisten and gleam like diamonds in the water.
Watch cheerful seals pass you by in the arctic waters of Jökulsárlón, rigged with floating icebergs.
Explore South Shore and the Blue Lagoon
Your second last day of the Iceland Northern Lights Tour is bound to be a memorable one. The breathtaking view of Eldhraun lava field or Fire-Lava field has a powerful tale behind it. A volcanic eruption lasted an entire year and resulted in the formation of this beautiful highland.
The Seljalandsfoss waterfall is the epitome of formidable nature, with its waters gushing onto the rocky surface below.
Later, you'll return to the origin site of Reykjavik and visit the beautiful Blue Lagoon one last time before you leave.
It is only fair that we end this once-in-a-lifetime Iceland Northern Lights Tour with one last search for the Northern Lights. Poetic, isn't it?
Depart for home
You're leaving with a heart full of memories and a bag full of stories to tell. Rest assured, you have experienced nature at its best.
