  • Day 1: Arrival in Leh

    Our representative will pick you up from the airport and drop you off at the hotel in the mid-morning to refresh yourselves.

     

    In the evening the tour will begin with an exploration of the Leh market where you can shop and hear local folktales from our guide.

     

    Overnight stay at Leh.

     

  • Day 2: Birding around Leh outskirts

    After an early morning breakfast, the birding will start with our guide around the Sindhu Ghat area. Next stop will be the Hemis monastery, Rancho’s school and Shey Palace. Shey marshes will give you a unique birding opportunity.

  • Day 3: Spangmik & Pangong

    After an early breakfast, our representative will escort you on the drive to Spangmik which is of 5-6 hours. Along the way, the mesmerizing picture perfect scenery will enthrall you. In the afternoon, the birding will be at Pangong Lake.

     

    Overnight will be at Pangong.

     

  • Day 4: Hanle

    After reaching Hanle, en route taking the opportunity to click photographs in Meraks village, we will reach Hanle grounds (stony area) which offers excellent photography opportunities of Red Foxes, different kinds of Finches and Ground Peckers. The next stops will be the Gompa monastery and the Nomad areas.

     

    Overnight stay at Hanle.

     

  • Day 5: Nomad area, Eurasian Eagle Owl area and Palla’s Cat

    After breakfast, our representative will take you on a tour of Palla’s Cat and the Eurasian Eagle Owl birding sites. Then we will take a glimpse of the nomadic life of the Nomads in their tents. We shall also go to the Black Necked Crane site which offers magnificent opportunity to witness woolly hares. Savor Ladakhi cuisine.

  • Day 6: Tso Kar Lake

    After an early breakfast, at 6 am we will begin the tour with a drive towards the Tso Kar lake via Puga valley, Polokongkala Pass and Thukjay. We will stop at the hot springs region to spot rare finches like Brandt’s, Great Rosefinch, Tibetan snowfinch and Mongolian snow finches. Other species we might notice include the horned larks, marmots and Tibetan wild asses.

     

    Overnight stay at Tso Kar.

     

  • Day 7: Tso Kar grounds - Leh

    After an early birding adventure at the Tso Kar grounds at 4 am we will return to Leh. On the way, we might even spot the rare Tibetan snowcock, Golden Eagle and vultures.

     

    Enjoy some shopping for mementos at Leh market.

  • Day 8: Leh Departure

    Our representative will pick you up and take you to the airport for the flight back home.
