ITINERARY - 14 Days

Today we all will begin our journey by boarding the international outbound flight to Kuching.

After arriving at Kuching, you will be escorted by a Wild Voyager representative and transferred by a private driver to your hotel. It depends on your flight time; you have the rest of the day to relax- you can wander into Kuching that very evening and explore many of the local restaurants, cafes and street-food stalls.

Enjoy the day exploring the history and beauty of the riverside city of Kuching on a private walking tour with an expert guide. You can explore the narrow alleyways and markets to see daily unfold by foot - as well as see many temples and churches the city is famous for. With a variety of colonial attractions from Indian mosques to Chinese temples, your guide can help you comprehend the complex history of the town.

We will leave Kuching this morning and then visit the Semenggok Orang-utan Sanctuary just in time for the morning feeding session along with your private guide. We will continue the journey on Lemanak River and the Batang Ai. We will spend the night in a native longhouse along with the Iban tribe (ancestors of the infamous headhunters). The journey with a private guide will last a day, and will also stop along the way to explore further. At the end of the day, we will arrive at the longhouse, to be welcomed for dinner, generally followed by traditional dancing and music.

Your Iban host will teache you about how the tribe survives on the natural resources of the jungle on a private guided walk. Bid farewell to the tribe as you depart by private longboat, and then we will be travelling by car, to a more convenient hotel for a night to stay. On arrival, you will check in to your room before enjoying a private guided nature walk with the opportunity to walk along the treetop canopy walkways of the surrounding forest.

We will be departing from Batang Ai and go back to Kuching today. After leaving from the hotel's jetty, you have a short shared boat transfer before you meet your private driver for the four-hour drive to Kuching. On the way, you can stop for a simple local meal.

Spend the day at Bako National Park with your private guide to see some of Borneo's astounding wildlife such as proboscis monkey, bearded pig and hornbill. An early start, drive-by private transfer 40 minutes outside the city before catching a boat for a 30-minute ride to the park. This trip would be customized to suit your interests, with your guide by your side to help you view many of the waterfalls, streams and jungle paths.

This morning you will check out from your hotel for a private transfer to Kuching airport to catch your flight to Kuala Lumpur. On arrival at Kuala Lumpur, a Wild Voyager representative, will receive you and escort you to your hotel via a private transfer. Depending on the flight time, you may have to roam around the city a little. A city is best explored on foot; you may like to wander to some of the many street-food stalls near your hotel to try out some local delicacies.

This morning you travel to the east coast, a journey of a couple of hours but worth it. Take a shared-boat to Tioman Island, where you will have four nights to relax at the gorgeous JapaMala.

Today is yours to enjoy at JapaMala.

You might want to explore the surrounding seas or rivers by hiring a private boat excursion to a nearby islet or harbour or simply try from the jetty.

Yet another day to enjoy at your hotel. Private jungle treks can be provided with the hotel, from longer treks like visiting the next village to short strolls to a nearby viewpoint- ideal for watching the sunset.

Enjoy your final day with leisure to the fullest at the JapaMala. The spa there is highly recommended. For an exceptional conclusion to your trip, you might like to book a table at Mandi-Mandi, a restaurant in the hotel built on stilts over the water.

We will catch a shared boat transfer back to Kuala Lumpur today where we will be driven to the airport in time for our onward flight.

Arrive home today to complete your journey.
