Day 1 |
Sao Paulo --> Northern Pantanal Day one of your Pantanal tour starts with your arrival at Sao Paulo, where a domestic flight will take you to Cuiaba. Your guide will, then, transfer you to the start of the Transpantaneira Highway-- the south of Pocone--a 145 km long dirt road through the heart of Pantanal, ending at Jofre. During your journey, you will raptors soaring in the skies, families of capybara, and pools filled with caiman, and flocks of waterbirds. On your way to your lodging, you get the chance to stop and admire the lakes and streams packed full of animals. Spend the afternoon on a group activity with other lodge guests. In the evening, head out for a safari drive taking you to the right place for optimal wildlife viewing. Overnight stay at Araras Eco Lodge. |
Day 2 |
Northern Pantanal Today, you have the entire day to explore the Northern Pantanal. Set forth to the wild wetlands of Pantanal with an expert naturalist guide for your morning and afternoon activities. You can choose from the trails teeming with wildlife that lead you away from the family ranch and a canoe exploration of the waterways. Use today to get away from the road to head deeper into the marches, grasslands, and forests in search of animals.Overnight stay at Araras Eco Lodge. |
Day 3 |
Jaguar viewing area On Day 3 you will get to enjoy the last morning activities with a chance of spotting tapir, caiman, and giant anteaters before heading to your jaguar safari. Following lunch, you will be on your way to the Panoramico Houseboat, going down the Transpantaneira Highway to Porto Jofre. On your way, you can stop and view the resident wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled during the last 35 kilometers to Porto Jofre, for you may spot jaguars at this point. Enjoy the rest of your evening exploring your floating accommodation. |
Days 4 - 6 |
Jaguar Safari The next three days of your trip will be spent searching for the jaguars and giant river otters on the Brothers, Cuiaba, and Piquiri rivers. During this time, you will go on private boat rides twice a day, returning to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. This, right here, is the best place to sight the elusive cats in the wild. Sharing a habitat with the jaguars, ocelots, giant river otters, caiman, tapir are other possible sightings during your safari. At the end of each day, you return to your lodging, where you can relax. Overnight at Panoramico Houseboat. |
Day 7 |
Return to Northern Pantanal On the morning of day 7, you will return to Porto Jofre, returning to the north. As you head to your lodge via the Transpantaneira Highway, keep your eyes open for the native wildlife of Pantanal. You will surely come across various waterbirds, caiman, and families of capybara. Lunch at the lodge is followed by afternoon lodge activity. Later, in the evening, stand a chance to see the magnificent ocelot cats with a visit to an ocelot hide. Overnight at Southwild Pantanal. |
Day 8 |
Going back home Today marks the end of your Pantanal tour. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Sao Paulo, from where you will catch the flight to your next destination. |
