A 14 Days Tour to See the Birds Swaying and Warbling in their Timber and Rhythm

This Thailand Birdwatching tour showcases the wide variety of bird species such as Blue-banded Kingfisher, and Ruddy Kingfisher making Thailand their safe living place. This tour will help the guests to be surrounded by vast arrays of bulbul, babblers, and barbets. ITINERARY - 14 Days
Day 1

Arrival in Phuket

Depending upon your arrival time, we will receive you at Phuket airport. We will transfer you to the hotel. Where we will have our evening meal and our further discussion about the tour.

Day 2

Visit Khao Phra Thaeo and Phang Nga

In the morning we will head towards Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary, the last remaining evergreen rainforest in Phuket Island. The island is home to a great variety of mammals like Boar, mouse bear, langur, gibbon, etc. There are around 80 bird species inside the sanctuary like Red-legged crake, red-billed malkoha, green broadbill, banded woodpecker.

After our marvelous morning visit to Khao Phra Thaeo Wildlife Sanctuary, we will drive to Phang Na. We will check into the hotel and enjoy our lunch. After having some relaxing lunch hours we will do some local mangroves traverse to see species like Brown-winged kingfisher, Streak-breasted Woodpecker, Mangrove Pitta.

Day 3

Day Exploring to Phang Nga

We will spend some early morning hours in mangroves. We will explore some more mangroves as we have done in the previous afternoon, or we will find some new places of mangroves depending upon our time and schedule. We will explore some morning birds of Thailand like malkohas, kingfisher, or we might get some chance to meet some new and exotic Thailand birds.

After lunch, we will head towards Thai Mueang, a small island between Phuket Island and Khai Lak. Thai Mueang makes Thailand Birdwatching tours even more startling by letting the guests see more special Thailand species like Blue-tailed Bee-eater, Oriental Dollarbird, Grey-capped Pygmy Woodpecker. While visiting this bijou town guests can be close viewers of some commonly seen birds like Red-wattled Lapwing and Lesser Whistling Duck.

Our next Thailand Birdwatching destination is Khao Sok, which lies between Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak, and Koh Samui. It is one of the most popular bird-watching destinations in southern Thailand. Terek Sandpiper, Greater Crested, and Black-naped Terns are the popular seen species in Khao Sok. After visiting three major, popular, and stunning bird watching destinations in Thailand we will move to the Khura Buri area that lies on the northern side.

Day 4

Trip to Si Phang Nga National Park and Khao Sok National Park

In the early morning, we will head towards Si Phang Nga National Park. The best watching time for this national park is from 10 am. Where you will see the birds probing for their morning meal, some sitting under the sun, or some just being happy to see you. Malayan Banded Pitta is the major attraction of this national park. This national park is the best place to see some magnificent species like Bushy-Crested Hornbill, Malayan Banded Pitta, or the Chinese Blue Flycatcher. Some more enchanting birds seen here are Thick-billed spider hunter and Purple-naped Sunbird.

After having our lunch. We drive towards Khao Sok and on the way, we will see some more attractive species like River Lapwing, Grey-headed Lapwing, Red-wattled Lapwing lazing around the coast of water, or just crossing the river with their little paddy legs.

Day 5

Visit Khao Sok National Park

We will spend our morning hours at Khao Sok National Park. The popular south Thailand Birdwatching destination. Here, in this national park, we will see some well-known Thailand birds like Rufous-collared and Blue-banded kingfishers. We will photograph some pleasing birds like Malayan peacock-pheasant, wooly-necked stork, straw-headed bulbul. The commonly seen birds inside the national park are wrinkled hornbill, chestnut-backed scimitar babbler, and sooty-capped babbler. Spending some morning hours surrounded by these lovely birds is something different, and something amazing.

We will enjoy our lunch and drive towards Ratchaprapha Dam. After reaching Ratchaprapha Dam we will do a boat riding taking us to our next staying destination. While sitting on the boat and enjoying the Cheow Larn Lake experience we might get a chance to see the White-bellied Sea Eagle or Oriental Hobby. We can also witness the jungle mammals like Dusky Langur or Lar Gibbon.

We will spend the night inside the bamboo hut. Giving an immensely unique experience to remember.

Day 6

Short Trip to Khao Sok National Park and Khao Luang (Krung Ching) National Park

In the early morning, we will again do the boat riding searching for some magnificent bird species like the kingfishers, raptors, and hornbills. We spend all our morning hours surrounded by the marvelous bird species.

We will return to the shore for lunch, after which we will head towards Tha Sala to visit the Khao Luang (Krung Ching) National Park.

Days 7 - 8

Khao Luang (Krung Ching) National Park

Khao Luang (Krung Ching) National Park is home to more than 200 bird species. Located in the southern province of Nakhon Sri Thammarat, this evergreen national park includes many rare species like White-crowned Forktail, Scarlet-rumped Trogon, Orange-breasted Trogon which can only be seen and found in the southern region including Khao Luang (Krung Ching) National Park in the Thailand Birdwatching tour is a treat to the guests.

In the long two days stay, guests have an opportunity to spot the famous southern birds like Golden-whiskered Barbet, Blue-eared Barbet, Hairy-backed Bulbul, Spectacled Bulbul, Asian Red-eyed Bulbul, and many more splendid bird species.

Day 9

Way to Thale Noi: From Khao Luang (Krung Ching) National Park

Before saying adieu to Khao Luang (Krung Ching) National Park, we will try to spot some more charming birds in the morning. While walking to the entrance gate we will find and search for some more pretty birds like Red-billed Malkoha, Raffles's Malkoha, Black-and-yellow Broadbill, Great Lora, or Banded Broadbill.

In the mid-morning, we will head towards the area of Thale Noi. We will stop for our lunch. We will reach our next affluent location. We will walk towards rice paddies where we might get a chance to see some or many or abundance of beautiful species like Bronze-winged or Pheasant-tailed Jacanas. We will have a relaxing afternoon in the resort witnessing Common kingfisher, Pink-necked Green Pigeon, Common Tailorbird from our resorts' porch.

Day 10

A Day in Thale Noi

Thale Noi is a natural wonder. It's a fun place to explore during the Thailand Birdwatching tour. You can see the birds enjoying their wing dance in the air initiating the guests to spend some more minutes with them. Cotton Pygmy Goose, Yellow Bittern, Purple Heron, Stork-billed Kingfishers, Chinese Pond Heron are some easily spotted birds. You might also get a chance to see some rarely seen species like Oriental Pratincole, Long-toed Stint, Grey-headed Lapwing to make your day even more awe-inspiring.

We will spend our morning time having some relaxing spa in the resort or spending some time in the pool. In the late afternoon, we will head towards the local rice paddies to spot some more interesting and adorable birds like Baya Weaver, Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler, or Painted Stork.

Day 11

Visit Trang Peninsular Botanic Garden and Khao Nor Chu Chi

We will leave the resort early in the morning, to visit the Peninsular Botanic Garden near Trang. A bird garden with a variety of songbirds, avifauna bird. One can easily spot the Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher, Van Hasselt's Sunbird, and Large Hawk-Cuckoo inside the garden. After having lunch, we will head towards Khao Nor Chu Chi, our two-night staying destination. After reaching the lodge, we will try to look for some more pleasing birds like Brown-throated Sunbird, White-throated Kingfisher, Orange-bellied Flowerpecker, or Asian Koel.

Day 12

Trip to Khao Nor Chu Chi

Khao Nor Chu Chi is heaven to the opulence of birds. One can easily see the Red-crowned Barbet, Red-throated Barbet, Chestnut-bellied, or Raffles's Malkohas inside Khao Nor Chu Chi. There are some more interesting bird species to photograph like Blyth's Paradise Flycatcher, Rufous-winged Phantomas making your visit even more spellbinding.

After having our dinner, we will again go in forage of some more engrossing birds like Large-tailed Nightjars, Oriental Bay Owl, Brown Wood Owl, or Barred Eagle-owl. We have an abundance of gripping and riveting birds in and around us.

Day 13

Way to Phuket: Khao Nor Chu Chi

We will do our last morning bird foraging in Khao Nor Chu Chi. We will try to look for some more alluring birds like Mustached Hawk-Cuckoo, Scarlet-rumped Trogon, Cream-vented Bulbul, and Thick-billed Flowerpecker. We will have our lunch and check-out of the lodge. And start our road journey to Phuket. Where we will enjoy our last meal together.

Day 14

Departure: Phuket International Airport

The tour ends on day 14. We will help you to catch a flight from Phuket International Airport. We have been pleased to help you to make this Thailand Birdwatching tour a memorable one for you and us.
