New Zealand

Introduction

A jewel in the Southern Hemisphere New Zealand was one of the last places to be inhabited by humans. The original inhabitants, the Maoris, developed their indigenous culture and advanced form of arts and crafts like cave carvings, weaving, group performances, oration and tattoo along with a distinctive language and clothing. Europeans reached the islands in the 16th Century and today the citizens of New Zealand are a mix of Maoris and Europeans. The country with its unique natural landscape full of mountains, cliffs, long coasts, and beautiful beaches together with its distinctive culture offers a unique experience to any visitor.
