Thailand is primarily famous for its beaches and nightlife. Not many people know that it also has some of the most aboriginal wilderness regions of the planet – forests, mangroves, swamps – which are home to hundreds of species of rare birds. Some of the best are Doi Inthanon National Park,Doi Lang or Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park, Nong Bong Kai or Chiang Sean Lake, Mae Wong, kaeng krachan, ao phang nga, khao sok and krabi river. Thailand is particularly famous for its colorful species of Pittas. Birding here is an experience you will not forget, and you will go back with some gems that you will not find anywhere else on the Earth.
