ITINERARY - 7 Days
Day 1

Arrival at Paro

The fast-moving pictures of the magnificent Pho Chu and Wang Chu rivers, the rice terrace, the hills, and gorges while leaving Paro for Thimphu prepare you for the special journeys in our Bhutan honeymoon package.

It may be hard for some to pinpoint the exact source of peace and serenity that encompass Thimphu. However, we reckon it’s the statue of Buddha Dordenma, sitting regally and proudly in Kuenselphodrang Nature Park, that whispers tranquility into the atmosphere blanketing the town. After a quick lunch, you can proceed to the park to study the statue’s ornate artwork, its history related to the prophecies of the arrival of a second Buddha, and its masterpiece of design.

The next place to tick off the Bhutan itinerary is Memorial Chorten, the Buddhist shrine with a golden spire that was built in memory of Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, Bhutan’s third king.

Day 2

Exploring the treasures of Thimphu

To have an understanding of the local agriculture, the Bhutan travel itinerary covers a visit to the busiest domestic market in all of Thimphu, the Centenary Farmers Market. This trip will acquaint you with the taste of the locals and their choice of ingredients while putting a Bhutanese meal together.

In the afternoon, get moving for the Authentic Bhutanese Crafts Bazaar, which is the town’s handicraft market. The smiling faces of the Bhutanese youngsters at the entrance and the eighty shops made from eco-friendly bamboo, with their vibrant burst of colors on display, will enamor you.

Wrap up the evening with a trip to Tashichho Dzong, the center of administrative and religious power, housing the throne room and the offices of the king. The Bhutan honeymoon package includes this location for a reason, as the surrounding Wang Chhu River, gorgeous gardens, and well-kept lawns create the perfect romantic spot.

Day 3

Journeying to the scenic Punakha

While journeying to Punakha, you will find the 360-degree picturesque views of the snow-clad mountain peaks of Dochula Pass bewitching. The Druk Wangyel Chortens on the lush green hillside, built in honor of the martyrs who fought the insurgents, is another fine Bhutanese architectural gem.

Next, you will come across Chimi Lhakhang, located on a hill right in the center of the valley, which is also called "the temple of fertility" and is believed to answer the prayers of couples with infertility issues.

Lastly, a hike to Punakha Dzong, which stands at the junction of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, will reward you with majestic views of the valley and mountains.

Day 4

Proceeding in the direction of Paro

The Bhutan honeymoon package now takes a sharp turn to go back to your point of arrival, Paro. Visit Tachog Lhakhang to revive your spirits. You’d surely enjoy crossing the swaying iron chain bridge built by the thirteenth-century saint Thangthong Gyalpo to reach the temple. Also, the high, rocky, barren hills and the ridge act as the perfect backdrop for pictures to celebrate your Bhutan travel adventures.

Day 5

Unveiling the history of Paro

Drugyel Dzong is the Fortress of the Victorious Bhutanese, which commemorates the victory over Tibetan armies. A fire destroyed the fortress in 1951, but the ruins don’t make it less impressive or less imposing.

After visiting Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the most charming spots in the valley of Paro, and finding your inner calm, follow Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan, known for the display of the first king’s robes, rulers’ swords, and the Raven Crown. From the watchtower of Ta Dzong, you can enjoy the striking views of the Paro valley.

Day 6

Visiting the Tiger’s Nest

Taktsang Monastery, or Tiger’s Nest, is the cultural icon of Bhutan and the most-visited pilgrimage hotspot. The emerald green valleys, stunning mountains, and unique location provide the perfect background for the monastery, thus making the challenging climb a worthy undertaking.

The perfect way to unwind after all that tough hiking is with a calming and soothing bath in a Bhutanese hot stone bath. Your day will be complete with a remarkable dining experience, comprising Ema Datshi and red rice with Jasha Maroo in a traditional Bhutanese house.

Day 7

Going back home

The Dragon Kingdom Tour of Bhutan travel itinerary comes to an end, and it’s time to say goodbye to the country.

With that, the Bhutan itinerary may have ended, but the touring experiences are bound to leave a deep impression on your soul. Travel to learn and to make memories.
